Treatment Preparation

Before embarking on any therapy to manage obesity and metabolic ill-health, you should be prepared both physically and emotionally/psychologically for the intervention and its outcomes. Detailed instructions will be given to you for the days before and during the intervention/therapy as well as during the subsequent consultations. This varies from medical, nutritional, physical and psychological advice and support.

Prior to the appointment, email receipt of your

  • completed online registration form
  • GP referral letter ensuring it lists your current medications, including doses.
  • most recent blood test results (even if they are more than a year old).
  • completed the TWO questionnaires (FCQ-T reduced and DASS-21)

If these FIVE items are not received within 2 working days of your appointment, our admin support staff will ring you and arrange to defer the appointment

During the consultation,

  • assess your medical history, blood test results and questionnaire answers in addition to performing a relevant physical examination.
  • explore and enhance your understanding of the contributors and exacerbators of obesity and metabolic ill-health
  • discuss all the possible evidence-based therapy options based on your individual health profile, so that you can go home and make an informed decision based on the facts as they relate to YOU
  • refer you for investigations if clinically indicated
